Project Description

Alicia Blanco-Bayo is a well known lecturer, researcher, author and trainer in early years education. In 2018 she approached Picture Engine for help with “rescuing” her WordPress website. The site had been set up by a friend who was now too busy to keep it update and make the changes Alicia needed, so Picture Engine took over the management of it, updated the look and feel and added some new features.

Rescue and add features…

As part of the process of taking over the site, Picture Engine did quite a lot of SEO work, restructuring some of the on-page SEO content and adding off-page SEO in the background (which had been almost entirely left out). Alicia also wanted to add an Event Booking function to make it much easier to manage her training courses. Picture Engine set up e-commerce functionality using Stripe as the payment gateway, and lined this to an event booking plugin to allow Alicia to take bookings online quickly and easily. She also had quite a significant number of legacy blog posts which had a lot of interesting content for people working in the field, and asked that we make the blog quite prominent on the site.

*Alicia closed her site recently having taken up a full time teaching post at Edge Hill University.
